very interesting lineup of the culture of filing vs the one of describing. It’s all about if aou work on an endless taxonomy vs. you just decribe what you observe. In any case it has severe implication for user-interfaces and metaphors.
Another issue is if a certain target group of users is either or. That said I can imagine that one application should afford both modes - since one and the same user resides in different patterns.
