thomas n. burg - on social media and its benefits for us, and sometimes gossip.

September 14th, 2005

Just found this piece of incomplete journalistic work of the European Parliament’s press service.

EU: Blogging on the way to something else: “Thomas Burg, of BlogTalk.net, saw things very differently, saying ‘weblogs are not about content but about sharing, learning and connecting with other people’. Blogs should thus be seen as free conversations between people who do not need to adhere to specific rules, rather than as news postings on the Internet.”

I, of course, never said anything like that bloggers “do not adhere to specific rules”. I wonder if that’s the result of orderly journalistic work and code of conduct ;-). I asked them to correct that statement we will see if the even react on my email. My position on the issue is visible and open for discussion.
After the roundtable I was interviewed for Radio France international, a Slovenian newspaper, and the Austrian Kurier.
[Update]
Euractiv got it right with lots of extra links and information, fantastic.
And Edwin Jacobs has an interesting information on the legal status of bloggers and the status of their sources.
