just 2 days online and the first comment spam in my WordPress outlet. Thanks the Akismet it got caught in the web. Otherwise you need to switch off comments. Will see what happens in the future.
These days I thought a lot about sales and selling and the translation that is necessary to cross the chasm from early adopters to pragmatists. The reason is I sometimes suffer from this “contamination”.
- First I myself experience sales pitches as spam: they distract and try to fool me but then if that’s the language of the majority of the market you need to step down from your aristocratic viewpoint and consider the contamintation of your architecture as a helpful refinement.
- Second I finally agreed the a difference in language is not necessarily a deficit. A concept that I advocated for many years now but never internalized if it leads directly to me an my social ecology.
- The language of Social Software must cross the chasm and find its parole in the world of the majority. A process that just started. Innovation is considered innovation after it has been appropriated by the established languages and social contexts. And after it has traded in its savagery for being understood and tied to the center. Coming from the margins - of course.
