Well, I’m a little late in the game. Rudolf Fischer, CEO of Wireline of (former state-owned) [tag-tec]Telekom Austria[/tag-tec], came back from vacation to spark an Austrian discussion about [tag-ice]net neutrality[/tag-ice]. Even though he is cautious enough not to claim that TA will demand money from content providers his tone somehow points into that direction. Martin Bredl, speaker of the TA, adds – more neutral in tone – the official standpoint in a comment.

Allerdings mache ich mir keine Sorgen, dass wir die Netze bauen werden, denn mittlerweile ist allen klar, dass Data-Highways für den Standort mindestens so wichtig sind wie gute Straßen und die Energieversorgung. Auf die Diskussion zum Theme Net Neutrality in einem europäischen Context freue ich mich aber schon.
