I don’t like that meme that Social Software is bottom-up by definition. And that enterprise software is simply bad. As long as there is something like a corporation or an organisation it’ll have high interests to provide tools that fit the enterprises needs. It is nonetheless a cultural question if that has to be controlled by the enterprise or imposed from above.

very interesting lineup of the culture of filing vs the one of describing. It’s all about if aou work on an endless taxonomy vs. you just decribe what you observe. In any case it has severe implication for user-interfaces and metaphors.

Austria’s new media law breeds again the debate about the phenomenological chasm of journalists and bloggers. I’d support this initiative below though I def. do not understand myself as somehow journalistic; and I do have a kind of imprint on my blog.
