That reminds me of the recent (spring 2006) Procter & Gamble ( ) report that points out that while spending more money for R&D ( ) the productivity and innovation rate went down. P&G changed their strategy – away from increasing expenses for internal R&D – then and put networking with outside the corporate firewalls (C&D) on top priority.

Thanks to Jochen Robes for pointing me to the work foundation’s report on “Defining the knowledge economy“(PDF). While this is more of a generic paper that tries to come to a definition what a knowledge economy ( ) is – by digging through piles of statistics and reports – there are some interesting statements that relate more to my interests and the entire issue of knowledge worker ( )s, innovation, information technology, knowledge sharing and, I dare to say, in the end social software ( ).

Got a request recently to describe BlogTalk, here is what I answered:

- BlogTalk’s language was and will be in English, it’s an international conference after all.
- BlogTalk ( ) is a unique conference insofar as it blends academics, practitioners, bloggers, developers.
- BlogTalk has already successfully established – although the field of interest is rather new – a place for conversations about Weblogs ( ), Social Software ( ) and alike.
